On June 15^th and July 6^th, eleven Nagano Kosen students and ten students from Udonthani Vocational school in Thailand conducted an online internet exchange. For the first meeting there were five students from each school, while the second meeting had eleven Kosen students and five Udonthani students. During the two sessions, students from each side presented different cultural topics and taught their languages to each other using English. During the first meeting the topics that were discussed included self-introductions, greetings, and counting. The students from both countries presented their language and then students were put into breakout rooms to practice with each other. There was a lot of smiling and laughing during the breakout sessions. At the second meeting on July 6^th, the topics that were discussed included shopping, talking about favorites, and popular slang. In the second session, more students from Kosen joined as partners for the students who presented in the first session. This made the breakout sessions even more fun and more interesting. Unfortunately, the students from Udonthani could not participate in any more meetings but they are looking forward to future interactions. It is sure that the Nagano Kosen students are looking forward to it as well. It was a lot of fun to learn a new language by using English as a common communication tool.

　6月15日と7月6日、長野高専の学生(11名)とタイのウドンターニ専門学校の学生(10名)が、インターネットを利用した交流会を行いました。2回のセッションで、それぞれの生徒が異なる文化的なトピックを発表し、英語を使ってお互いの言語を教え合いました。第1回目は、自己紹介、あいさつ、数の数え方などについて話し合いました。両国の学生がそれぞれの言語を発表し、その後、学生同士がグループに分かれて日本語とタイ語の会話の練習をしました。この練習では、笑顔と笑い声が絶えませんでした。7月6日の第2回目では、買い物、好きなものの話、流行のスラングなどが話題になりました。第2回目は、第1回目に発表した生徒のパートナーとして、高専生がさらに加わり、より楽しく、より興味深いものとなりました。残念ながら、ウドンターニの学生はこれ以上参加することはできませんでしたが、今後の交流を楽しみにしているようです。きっと長野高専の学生も楽しみにしていることでしょう。英語を共通のコミュニケーションツールとして使い、お互いに新しい言語を学ぶことでとても楽しい交流になりました。
